06.25.2016: Exactly a month since my last update (somehow), I'm once again bringing in some big changes. The forum structure has been revamped AGAIN, essentially reversing the changes made back in November. The 'Old IGNO' style of posting is officially back, by popular demand!! We will henceforth be emphasizing our signature style of spontaneous in-character discussions instead of the ill-attempted shift towards traditional roleplaying. Head over to the Casual RP forum and jump into the action!! And fear not - the traditional topics are still here, they just got a new home, too!! --SG2
05.25.2016: Am I alive again? Who knows. Regardless of my state of existence, I'm doing some much-needed cleanup over at IGNOpedia. I'd like to regain my IGNO mojo and start attracting newbies now that summer break has begun, for the bored folks out there looking for a new RP hangout... --SG2
12.1.2015: Completely rewrote the Element Guide from scratch. Now much more comprehensive!! --SG2
11.24.2015: Major overhaul in-progress!! Changed the skin, revamped the forum structure, and fixed a few things under the hood. Stay tuned for more revisions to the world, the map, and completely redone backstory of IGNOLand!! --SG2
11.12.2015: I'm back from the dead. Time to take a break from playing Skyrim and make a return to IGNOLand - big things planned!! --SG2

CBOX DIRECT/MOBILE LINK
(note: most mobile browsers do not play the notification sound, but FIREFOX MOBILE is confirmed for bloops, even if the browser is idle!!)
We currently have a premium subscription to cbox, which we renew so long as the board remains active. Rules of conduct in the cbox are largely the same as the board in general so please keep things clean and civil - though do be aware that the cbox is a lot more lax and likely to become chaotic due to its very nature.
The cbox can be used for both IC and OOC discussion and may switch between the two without warning.
Why have cbox and an IRC channel?
I believe the two serve similar, yet reasonably different purposes. The cbox provides a simple chat right on the board - you can chat while you post, and post while you chat. The ability to use icons and emoticons enhances this experience, as well as the persistent chat history, so you can catch up with what's going on if you join in the middle of a discussion - unlike IRC. And naturally, the cbox essential for guests and potential new members to pose any questions they may have, and generally get a feel for what the community is like, before registering.
On the other hand, Our IRC channel - while public - tends to feel more like a private, tight-knit community chat. While cbox chats tend to be spontaneous, we often go in IRC with a specific purpose in mind. It's also less public than the cbox, so users are able to unwind and worry less about keeping up appearances, or sharing sensitive information (such as personal issues they may want to vent about). Additionally, the fact that our IRC channel is not directly connected to the forum (and is self-hosted by staff member Tim) exempts it from the Jcink terms of service - which means NSFW roleplaying can (and occasionally will) take place there.
Yes, they're both services we use for community chat, and yes, both of them are as likely to contain in- and out-of-character discussions as the other. But we do tend to gravitate more towards one than the other for specific purposes and I believe many of us would agree that the premium cbox has a lot of desirable features that are nice to have around.

The cbox allows the use of a 50x50 image next to the user's name, for which we typically use our character sprites. Here you may find those sprites already cropped to size for your convenience.
If you don't have an icon of your own yet, you can go 'naked' (no icon at all) or use an image of your own instead. For best results, use an image with square dimensions - IE, the width and height are the same; as long as the dimensions match the cbox will automatically scale it to 50x50 for you. If you're unsure how to crop an external image into an icon, use a site like cutmypic. New icons will be added to this list as they are created.
Find your icon below and copy the URL, then paste it into the 'email/URL' field of the cbox. You should know who you are - please don't use someone else's icon!!

Made some changes to the cbox.
Personal 'me' Codes & Macros
An example use would be, if I wanted to show I was doing something,
Which would then look like
SG2: goes for a walk
Should I maybe italicize them as well?
There are also a few assorted commands/emotes/macros/whatever you want to call them:
I went ahead and added similar filters to the forum itself - for more info on that, see this thread.
