Brainstorm Thread: [Link]

This is an IGNO spin on the classic Zombie Apocalypse scenario. As such, a 'serious' mode of conduct is expected - characters should behave as though they are, in fact, fighting for their lives against a large population of crazy, brainwashed and legitimately dangerous people. There should be a focus on drama and character development - try to keep the angst levels from overflowing, however. If a particular character copes by cracking jokes or maintaining having an upbeat demeanor, that's fine (though the 'mask' will probably crumble eventually), as long as the situation itself is not taken lightly. If you'd rather a more humorous, casual scenario, try IGNO Quest.

Players are encouraged to explore their relationships with other characters, but please avoid getting into lengthy one-sided conversations to keep the thread open and accessible to everyone. If you'd like to take a specific side-scene in the general 'zombie apocalypse' setting and give it more depth, feel free to create a new thread in the Guild Hall for it!! Just preface your topic with [NotRWF] so it's clear that it is a piece of this larger scenario.

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR CHARACTER STARTS OUT ALONE AND GOING ABOUT THEIR OWN BUSINESS. We will inevitably form our group a little later, but until then, assume that none of us were together (a pair or two who were together when it happened is okay) at the time, and don't attempt to follow the post of the person above you, but focus only on what your own character is doing for now.

Since the RP is centered strongly around IGNO City, here's a crappy little map to give you an idea of where some important locations are situated.

(IMG:http://i.imgur.com/4KL3NqM.png)

Click for larger view.

(This is IGNOLand's first 'serious' multiplayer storyline, so please be patient with others as we all try to find the right groove)

The sound of crackling static has been cutting in and out for some time now, though largely unheard. The chaos outside the window drowns out the TV noise, painting an even more accurate picture of the situation than the reporter on the screen.

"...has.........in the......mass panic......riots started to........."

There is a loud CRASH suddenly, jolting the shaky television out of its stupor. The broadcast continues.

"...here in IGNO City. It would seem that the cause for the riots is the popular new movie-turned-multimedia franchise, Ship Wars. Locals report that the chaos started earlier today at the book signing held at Black Books. It was to be the first public appearance of the book's elusive author, known only by the pseudonym 'DragoKnight08'. However, before the author could even arrive, the crowd started growing impatient and harassing store owner, BlackFenix, for information. This lead to internal arguments among the community of fans who refer to themselves as "Shipshapers", which further escalated into violence. In the confusion, other store patrons saw the opportunity to loot limited-edition copies of the novels, film adaptation, action figures and more from store shelves set up to promote the signing, which lead to further riots that spread to the streets and lead to the pandemonium you now see behind me. Local authority Fuhrer Bones could not be reached for comment. This is Sandra Garcia for W-IGN News, back to you in the studio, Chad."

The image on the screen changes to that of a middle-aged man in a news studio, a still image of IGNO City in a framed box on the screen behind him.

"Thank you for that, Sandra. Now, for those of you just tuning in, we are reporting live on the riots currently going on in IGNO City. Now as Sandra just described, the riots seem to have originated at local bookstore Black Books, but what started as in-fighting among existing Shipshapers who had shown up for the book signing has since become much more. As the havoc spread to the streets, reports of break-ins rapidly surged and then abruptly ceased. IGNO PD officers answering the calls would arrive on the scene only to be greeted with the sight of those who reported the break-ins frantically discussing Ship Wars with the intruders. Absolutely everyone the police made contact with seemed to be a raving Ship Wars fan, even in homes that had no obvious Ship Wars memorabilia in sight. The bizarre phenomenon could only be described as though the intruders somehow 'converted' their would-be victims into Ship Wars fans in the short span of time between the break-in call and the officers arriving in response. More puzzling still was the fact that this scenario repeated itself dozens of times across the city, with multiple officers reporting similar cases in their jurisdictions.

In perhaps the most interesting case so far, an IGNO PD officer agreed to an interview with our crew on the scene shortly after the break-in reports stopped coming in, let's take a look at that now."

The scene moves to a reporting holding a microphone to one Officer Christopher O'Reiley, whose name appears in text on the screen. O'Reiley speaks, the calm and collected expression on his face in stark contrast to the manic scene taking place just offscreen.

"You see this sort of thing from time to time, y'know, people will report a break-in only to find out that it was just a relative or a friend, and they all sit down to have a laugh about it later. It's really nothing to be concerned about, and I think it's still too soon to say that the break-in reports have any connections to what happened at Black Books."

"How do you explain the fact that break-in calls were reported all throughout IGNO City within roughly the same span of time, only to stop just as suddenly? Or the fact that--"

"Y'know, it's really no--"

"Or the fact that in every one of these break-in cases reported, the subject the people happened to be discussing was Ship Wars?"

O'Reiley becomes visibly frustrated as the reporter cuts him off, pressing questions he clearly has no desire nor intention to answer directly.

"Well y'know, this whole 'Ship Wars' thing is just a fad. It's really huge right now, y'know? Books, movies, TV show, you can't go anywhere without hearing about it. It's completely reasonable that the subject would come up in discussion, y'know, commonly and whatnot, when people get together in a group and start chatting. The whole thing is really silly, y'know, some teenagers having fantasy adventures at sea, saving the day by fighting pirates and mermaids...I'm busy focusing on REAL LIFE, and the REAL ISSUES that go on day to day in this city. It's too early to assume these break-ins have anything to do with the riots, they're probably just coincidental isolated incidents. We have much more pressing concerns to worry about, y'know, like that masked lunatic who's been causing all kinds of property damage going around fighting small-time crooks at night. Leave the police work to the police, we'll get these crazy Ship Teasers or whatever they call themselves under control soon."

The clip ends and the middle-aged man in the news studio returns.

"Now this is where it gets strange. On-scene reporter Sandra Garcia happened to meet up with Officer O'Reiley again not even an hour after that interview, yet his perspective had done a complete 180. He was spotted arguing with members of the Shipshapers over content that had been modified between the novel and the film adaptation of Ship Wars, speaking as though he himself was a long-time fan. However, the original novel is 897 pages long, and the movie runs 158 minutes. There is no way that Officer O'Reiley would have been able to both read the novel and see the film in the span of time between his interview with W-IGN News and his second spotting on the streets. And while there's always the possibility that he had lied about his opinion for the series during the interview to preserve his reputation, it's nonetheless a fact that several other groups of police officers who had previously been attempting to quell the riots were now seen engaging in fevered conversation with the Shipshapers themselves.

Is Ship Wars a harmless fandom? Or is it steadily corrupting the youth - nay, all citizens of IGNO City? This is W-IGN News, and I'm Chad Iron--"

If not for the anchor's reaction, it would have been impossible to tell that the banging noise was coming from the television and not from outside the room. Composed only a second before, thick beads of sweat begin to drip down Chad Ironside's face, reflecting the suffocating light of the newsroom. There is a steady rhythm to the pounding...one. ...two. ...three. ...four. ............... ...silence. Chad visibly holds his breath...there are no cue cards telling him how to react to this, only pure instinct, primal fear. The televised news was the bastion of the community, and had an obligation to present a clear, unbiased view of even the most tense situations in as calm a manner as possible. If the news were to react appropriately to tragedies and crisis, the public would only be driven to further panic. A news personality was supposed to remain stonefaced even in the most horrific of situations...he wasn't allowed to react as a human being.

That illusion was shattered the moment the banging started. In an instant, the intense violence taking place just outside TS Studios became tangible. And so he held his breath, for as long as he held it, time would remain stopped. The banging would not continue...the studio would remain a calm environment, separated from the madness of the outside world.

But madness waits for nothing.

The door to the studio burst open, the sound of splintering wood and tearing metal slicing through the noiselessness. The behind-the-scenes crew flooded onto the television screen as they broke out in panic, Chad Ironside's high-pitched shriek overwhelming the microphone with screeching feedback. A chorus of shouts is heard from offscreen, but nothing clear enough to make out. The cameras knocked over by the fleeing staff members catch only flickering movements; the shuffling of feet, the grabbing of hands. Chad's scream is overtaken by the legion of cries chanting something in unison...repeatedly...indistinct.

After several long moments, the calm returns...the only noise is the clattering of equipment and footsteps treading on broken glass and shards of metal. Finally, the camera is readjusted. The picture is focused on a hastily-drawn title card, and the words scrawled onto it are accompanied by a voice - clearly amateur, a strained, crackling sound reads the words in an uneven tone.

"W-we interrupt this news broadcast for...for a special broadcast of...of the Ship Wars fanfiction, "On Strangest Tides", b-by author TheStalwartSwashbuckler..r-read by TheStalwartSwashbuckler. Chapter one........."

LG was so mad at all the other IGNOites. How could they accuse him of being Penguin Man!? That sounds obnoxious as it is. Being that he was sick of getting frozen fish in the mail from his “friends” he decided to head to IGNO City to find the freak in the penguin suit to end this whole investigation.

He had heard the news report a month earlier about some sort of fandom army in the city but, like the other IGNOites, he ignored it. They all agreed that the whole idea sounded silly and it was the problem of the city, not the heroes of the land.

On the plus side as of late he hadn’t had a reason to go to IGNO City because IRC Studios was being renovated. So no work meant no trips to the city for just about all of the IGNOites. He was sure that by the time that he got to IGNO City that the whole thing would have washed over and the problem would be gone. LG had never been so wrong.

When he arrived to IGNO City the place seemed to be in ruins, not literal ruins but everything was either closed up or boarded off. The streets that had once been full of street vendors and night walkers now were covered in blood, organs that had teeth marks in them, and shredded copies of other fandoms, including Cosmic Clashes, Old Flame(rs), and other IGNO related work. Smoke was filling the sky from a few buildings burning, and there was an odd growling sound coming from the inside of some building, like The Gas Station Next Door but that was nothing new for that place. LG couldn’t believe that some stupid fan boys caused this whole mess, but he didn’t have time for this stupidity. He had to stick to his mission of finding Penguin Man, but before he could get too far into the city he was pulled into a dark alley and knocked out by a large metal object.

"This," the well-respected Blood Kaiser Karma hisses, as she takes shelter in a random alley in IGNO city, "is absolutely ridiculous. A vampire paladin, reduced to hiding in alleys. What the hell is going on?"

Not for the first time that day she wonders how everything came to this. Normally the Blood Kaiser was so involved in taking care of her own nation, the Blood Country, that she rarely left it unless meeting with some of her many super-powered friends or otherwise dealing with business.

Today, she'd visited IGNO City on business--some of her living residents had asked if it would be possible to import some famous Cheese Soda to their living little village, Pulse Town, since it was difficult for the living to travel sometimes and it'd be a nice treat to have available at home. Since it would make them happier--and thus, more willing to part with their blood for their kind-hearted Kaiser--Karma agreed to see if it was possible. Thus the shadow paladin was on her way to the famous Peach Out Homeslices to see if she could negotiate with SG2 about possible Cheese Soda shipments to the Blood Country.

Unfortunately she never made it there--she had, apparently, picked the worst day to try and do a little trade business. IGNO City was already uneasy when she entered it that morning, and grew steadily worse, until riots were everywhere.

And the worst part was she still couldn't figure out why. She knew vaguely about Ship Wars, of course--a few of the scenes in the movie had been filmed in the Blood Country for its spooky backdrop, and she thought a few of her monster-y citizens had been cast as enemies or something--but she didn't understand why everybody was literally crazy about it. The way they swarmed the city seemed a lot like the 'good old days' some of her older zombie servants talked of, but these people were decidedly alive.

"I never should have left the Blood Country," the Kaiser mutters, breaking out of her thoughts again as she watches a horde of raving Ship Wars fans run past, thankfully not noticing her due to her enhanced Shadow-gifted stealth. "Damn. Well...long as I'm here, I should see if the others are okay. Maybe one of my friends has a safe place to hole up here..."

Plan decided, she heads off carefully, searching for other fandom survivors.

This is far too typical Azaran thought as he was running around the streets of IGNO City being chased by a new one.

Azaran could fly away and be safe but that would get the attention of all of the Shipshapers in a mile radius, which then would follow him back to all of the others. Azaran had left his group of civilians to do another supply run, food was short again. Of course with no actual work being done in the city no new food was coming in so only a few places still had any food. For the most part the Shipshapers had started to eat one another for food, or at least parts of one another.

When everything started over a month ago he joined a group of people to protect them. He promised himself that he would let nothing happen, but of course that wasn't realistic. Time after time in the last month their camps had been invaded by hoards of the fans. He always felt so conflicted. On one hand these people were alive, so he couldn't hurt them, but they were violent so he had to keep them occupied while others got away. Over the month their camp of over 100 shrunk down to just over 15 non-shipshapers. He usually was the one to do the running for the group. They all thought he was just some punk trying to score other resources, due to him rarely finding a lot, but he knew they didn't really know the truth.

Early Azaran decided to go out on a run because he had a lead on where he could find some canned goods. He had just been minding his own business, running towards the IGNO Supply Store when he jumped out. Azaran knew the face, but then again how could he not? He was one of the "amazing" heroes of the land. Though he wondered how this happened to someone that was strong he knew he didn't have much time.

Azaran discovered a week ago that if you can lead a new shipshaper, new as in being changed in the last few days, into the large pond in the city you could reverse the effects of the fandom. Azaran assumed it was because the water was ice cold, due to it coming from very deep underground. The cold seemed to shock people out of this. It wasn't that Azaran really wanted to help this guy but at that point maybe he could get some help, and he really didn't want an actual threat be a shipshaper.

"Hey dumbass," Azaran yelled at his follower, "Catch me if you can!" With that he kept on running with only 5 blocks to go to get to the pond.

((it seems that we're jumping around in time a bit, which is perfectly fine for now while we get our individual bearings straight. Just thought I would take the opportunity to point out that you can set your intro post anywhere from the day of the bookstore riot up to a month after - no more than a month, though. It's up to you what your character has been doing in the meantime, and when you want to start describing their struggle.))

"Where the Hell is LG?!"

The tiger screamed in frustration, left to tend their co-owned pizza shop in IGNO City - Peach Out Homeslices - by herself for the past three days. But LG had a tendency to skip his duties, and that in itself wouldn't have been so bad...except that none of the student employees had shown up for work in three days either. Of all the times she could really use a hand from her business partner, he was nowhere to be found...

Somehow she had yet to really comprehend what had been going on in IGNO City - all she knew is that they had more customers than ever before, which was exciting...at first. It quickly became overwhelming, with people pouring in by the droves searching for food. They didn't pay her much mind or bother exchanging pleasantries, which was just fine by SG2 - she'd rather focus on her work than endure idle chit-chat with the customers, anyways. Most of them came in large groups and sat down at the tables, discussing the ever-popular new fandom Ship Wars. SG2 was already tired of hearing about it, so she did her best to tune it out and just focus on the dozens of pizzas she had to make to keep up with the demand.

The pay made it all worth it, though...the customers seemed so distracted by their conversations that most of them weren't even bothering to count their money. Wallets were literally pouring kok onto her counters, and before she could even catch the clattering coins bouncing onto the floor her patrons would be gone. It was a little strange...but SG2 was a simple creature and decided to just enjoy the payoff rather than asking questions.

But this didn't last. After a few days, they had stopped paying altogether...they'd still come in and secure some tables, conversing for hours on end before finally leaving. SG2 tried to tune it out, but she couldn't help but notice that their discussions were somewhat more...frantic, than before. They were also more prone to arguments...differences in opinion between the book and movie adaptations, or who the best couple was, or whether or not fanfiction ideas and AUs were probable. Within a few days the restaurant was regularly filled with the sounds of their shouting matches. Still, she continued to bake pizzas day after day, almost sick of the sight of them by the end of it.

Just focus on the cash...without LG around, I'm entitled to a bigger cut, anyways...

But it couldn't last. For reasons she hadn't thought too much about, SG2's ingredients shipments had been awfully late...she had already eaten through half of the emergency supplies that were meant for situations such as storms or natural disasters unexpectedly preventing a shipment from arriving on time. But there didn't seem to be anything wrong with the weather. So why hadn't the trucks come yet? And seriously, where in IGNOLand was that lazy bum of a Gaylian?! She wanted more than anything to just storm off and find him to give him a piece of her mind...but leaving the restaurant in the middle of the lunch rush, especially being understaffed, was just...

"No, you know what...I don't think these guys even care about the food...they just want a place where they can sit down, abuse my wifi, and talk about that stupid fandom...I bet they'd never even notice if I left."

And so the tiger flung one of her SG2 Tiger suits onto a coatrack and left it behind the counter - these suits always seemed to fool her friends, so it should definitely work on customers who were barely paying attention to her in the first place. Carefully and quietly slipping out through the back door, she made her way across IGNO City towards IRC Studios, where she expected to find her business partner...

Bradios had been busy over the past few days, choosing to keep himself in the solitude of his mountain base to repair himself, the fatigue of exploring caverns and tending to the colonies that were kept on the Banks had left him worn out and needing some "TLC".

The base was being run by the androids who were working on double speed over those past few days, allowing for the cyborg who usually ran it to catch up on his needed recharging and repairing. Their power supplies unfortunately ran out quick because of this, which meant Brad had to keep on powering up new androids for every set that ran out and then charge them back up.

It was an arduous time, one of which was about to get serious quick. As suddenly, one of the androids noticed something weird happening. A new entity had entered IGNO City. Quickly alerting the cyborg who ran the base, Bradios entered to examine the new entity.

"It looks to be some kind of..undead? One of Karma's maybe?" The cyborg said, coming to the idea that one of the Blood Kaiser's undead had escaped and caused havoc. The androids were quick to shoot down that idea because she would have alerted the city if that happened. And there has been no signs of her kind in the city.

"Not one of hers?" The cyborg questioned, taking a closer look at the city to see that instead of biting and nomming on the citizens much like a regular undead would, they were...discussing a book?

"What in all of neutrality is this thing?!" He exclaimed. His confusion on the matter throwing him into a state of panic. Leaving the underground base post-haste.

"ATTENTION ALL ANDROIDS, CYBORGS AND NEUTRALS. WE ARE IN CODE DARK GREY. I REPEAT. CODE DARK GREY. ALL ANDROID PERSONNEL ARE TO REPORT BACK TO THE BASE ASAP. ALL COLONY MEMBERS ARE TO STAY INDOORS UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. THIS IS NOT A DRILL."

The alert had been sounded. The banks had been prepared for anything, the androids were to keep the base online and the colony safe as long as they could while he was away. Code Dark Grey was only in cases where it was unsure how long the cyborg would be away for. And if in the event he didn't recall back within a three week period, something would've gone terribly wrong.

"I haven't done this in a long time. I hate to do this again. But I have to find out just what the hell is going on..." And without any hesitation, he zoomed off the banks, its force field engaging as he left.

"Whatever is down there isn't going to be pretty, but in order to protect my home, I need to find out what this is. And stop it." As he declared that to himself, he flew down into the central area of IGNO City. Preparing for the worst.

LG had never felt his head pound this much, he wanted to just go back to sleep. Wait why had he been sleeping? He didn't remember falling asleep so why would he be sleeping? Also how long had he been asleep? He remembered walking down the street then it's all a blur.

He tried tried to sit up but it felt like everything hurt and was cold. He noticed right away that on his arms were marks that looked like some sort of rope burn. And why the hell did his eyes hurt so bad?

Just as he was about to stand he heard a voice from behind him say, "I wouldn't do that if I were you."

When he looked behind him he saw a blonde haired boy, must have been a teenager. the boy was cute, at least LG thought so, but he had wings. LG always remembered what his grandma said about winged boys, that most likely they were fairies and he didn't need anything else to make him seem even gayer. What really caught LG's attention though was the look of disgust on the kids face. LG had never met this guy before but he could tell already that he was not an LG fan.

"Who are you?" LG asked looking around at the beat down room they were in, "and what is this place? And why am I here?"

As much as LG tried he couldn't help but think about two things. One that this kid seemed to hate him. And two that his original simple mission of finding PenguinMan would have to be put on pause because something much bigger was happening here.

SG2 hid behind a stack of crates in a dark alley, frantically trying to catch her breath. While it was true that the tiger was one of the strongest in IGNOLand, and theoretically should have more stamina than to be tired out so easily, she wasn't terribly fond of running - especially from large crowds of deranged freaks.

"Okay...something's...something's definitely...not right...in IGNO City..."

It had taken her until now to realize that all those customers in the past few days were foreshadowing something terrible. In fact, if she hadn't seen it for her own eyes, she probably would have remained blissfully clueless...it's not like there were any breaking news stories covering this incident, or swarms of pol...wait, where were the police? Thinking back, SG2 did recall hearing an oddly high number of sirens outside the pizza shop window in the last few days, but now there wasn't a single cop car to be found. And actually...she did turn on the TV the other day hoping to catch the weather, and there was some sort of urgent bulletin hogging the airwaves so she switched it off in frustration...okay, but what about Fuhrer Bones? Surely if things were this messed up in his city, hewould have stepped in to do something by now...or at least sent out his Leprechaun Cavalry to quell the riots.

"So why in the Hell are things in this condition?!"

Moments after she stepped out of Peach Out Homeslices, SG2 was jumped by a small group of filthy-looking teenagers. They smelled horrible...like rotten fishheads, though she was used to that smell from LG's armpits anyways. Still, their faces were covered in dirt, their hair matted, their clothes disheveled and torn...and their eyes were bloodshot with dark rings around them as though they hadn't slept a wink in days. All of them, crowding around her, stacks of papers in their hands. They were screaming almost unintelligibly, though SG2 gathered that they wanted her to read those papers, and they would do anything to make that happen. It didn't take long for even more of them to join the crowd so the tiger made no effort to stand around and decipher their demands - she ran!!

It was then that she had noticed the dismal condition of the city around her...shards of glass lay strewn about outside broken windows, along with splintered wood and dented metal. She couldn't tell at a glance as she ran by what had been damaged in the struggle and what had been used to cause the damage, but there were smashed tables and chairs all over the place. Any cars that were unfortunate enough to be parked on the street fared no better. People of all ages and races were getting into fist-fights and screaming at each other. There were piles of garbage and small fires burning...if she hadn't been more focused on escaping her pursuers, she may have been able to make out the books and figurines in those piles. But she didn't care, she didn't care why things were in this state - not at the moment, anyways. She just knew she had to run because things were bad. So she ran until finally she managed to give the crowd the slip...though it wouldn't be long before she'd be discovered if she just stayed here behind the crates.

She'd caught her breath enough. It was time to find someone, anyone from her group of friends who might know what was going on here...carefully peeking from behind the boxes, she made sure that the coast was clear before crouching, unsheathing her claws.

"I just hope it hasn't gotten to them, too..."

It took but a moment for the tiger to break through the cobblestone and into the soft earth below. When the hole was large enough to crawl into, she dragged one of the crates to cover the opening, and tunneled onward - hopefully, to safety.

"Can't be surprised you don't remember anything," Azaran scoffed at the brown haired man still lying on the bed, "You were out for a while. I was starting to think that you weren't going to get up at all."

The man looked at him like he was insane, but Azaran was not insane, he had seen this many times over the past month. Most of the time the fans of that series would first knock out a non fan with a heavy metal pirate sword. Then the would strap them into a chair with no way to escape or close their eyes. Then would come the continual watching of Ship Wars over and over until you were obsessed too. All of this would only happen if they decided not to eat you first, which was happening more and more.

With no suppliers most of the city had shut down leaving only some food here and there. Azaran figured that soon no food would be available and the ShipShapers would go on an even bigger rampage and start eating each other. The thought of the poor weak people that wouldn't be able to defend themselves made Azaran sad, but that was something he would never show. Having no feelings was how he won the affection of his group and it wasn't going to change, no matter how bad it got.

"You are in our sanctuary," he informed his guest.

The Sanctuary had started a little bit before everything got bad, before the fandom really took off. It was an abandoned building by The Gas Station Next Door. Azaran had been using it to let the homeless get off the streets to somewhere warm. Of course Azaran didn't own the building but he had never seen anyone there so he didn't see what the problem with using it was.

He had started the Sanctuary hoping that eventually it could go on without him. He sometimes took odd jobs around the city and would sneak food from them to the Sanctuary so they could eat something. He also had a deal with a few places, like IGNO U's cafeteria, that he could take the left over food for the day as long as he agreed to refreeze their freezer each day with his ice powers. This was really no problem and it saved IGNO U some money as well.

Though that was all good it no longer mattered. The Sanctuary was one of the last strong holds against the fandom that Azaran knew about, and protecting it was all he cared about.

"I'm LG," the man told him.

"Do you think I'm stupid?" Azaran asked glaring at LG, "Of course I know who you are, you pompous ass-hole. How could I not know who the famous radio show hero was. Give me more credit!"

Already this guy was annoying Azaran. He was pretty sure that LG was trying to insult his intelligence. It would be difficult trying to work with someone so self-important, but Azaran knew he had to do it for the good of the group.

"Now about me saving you," Azaran said with a devious grin, "You owe me now."

The next thing Brad knew, his jets were suddenly becoming jammed, cluttering up and malfunctioning them til they stopped working. He would've been 15 ft away from landing at where he was, which made the inevitable fall less painful to his systems.

That didn't excuse the fact that the crash landing near fried his systems. A remote reboot saved him from becoming an unmovable mess of cluttered up trash. Which given the current circumstances, would've made it a complete disaster from where he was.

"Ugh...Okay...Let's assess the damage..." He said to himself, looking at his current state and seeing what had been affected.

"Mainframe...bruised, but still working just fine.
Jets...Jammed and offline. Main reason why I crashed to begin with.
Weapons...Damaged. All but basic plasma gun is offline. Needing repair.
Power supply...Damaged, currently at 50% capacity.
GPS...Holding on.
HUD...Most features offline.
Current Status: Find help ASAP, repair any damaged or offline gear."

The damage from the crash didn't look good. It left most of his gear either offline or badly damaged. And in a situation like this, it wasn't a good thing. The weird readings were showing up on his radar, in...hordes?

"No, that..can't be right. My radar must've taken more of a hit than I thought." He said, in disbelief of what he was seeing on there. Suddenly, a noise came out from nowhere. A wild, grumbling, inhuman noise. The hordes looked closer on his location.

"It can't be...." Whatever it was that was affecting the city and turned it into a mess. It was coming in a group...and it was looking to close in on a damaged Brad.

"Shit! Shit shit shit!" He yelled, groggily getting to his feet and making a dash for it as fast as his damaged body could allow him. It was good enough, enough to get him out of their area. But still they followed. They knew he was here. They knew he was running. And they knew to call out for their fellow hordes.

"I gotta get out of here!" He was pannicking, the yelling of incoherent gibberish and things flying behind him was making it hard for him to think. It was then he hit a brick wall...literally.

He hit his face onto orange wall, the fog making it hard for him to see anything properly, he tried to find where he was on the GPS, it didn't give him a proper location but he recognized the area, it was Peach Out.

"You're kidding me.." Not wasting any time, he hurried into the barren homeslices store, praying someone was there. "Hello?!" He shouted, hoping someone heard his desperate cry for help.

Karma had spent hours sneaking through the city, avoiding the attention of the crazed fans to the best of her ability. She was spotted once or twice, by crazed fans shrieking with delight at new 'prey,' as they chased after her holding books and posters and figurines high. Those had been informative lessons--initially the Kaiser (ever one to preserve potential future dinner) had simply tried to hypnotize them to force them to run off, only to discover they were immune to her vampire stare and had even nearly turned it back on her in a strange fandom-brainwashing rebound. She had avoided that, barely, and hadn't tried that again, sticking to running and vanishing into the shadows as soon as she could at every opportunity.

Now, hours later, exhausted and real hungry for a pint or two of blood, she finally reaches Peach Out Homeslices. It's not as comforting a sight as she'd hoped, however--it looks to be in a state of disrepair, with the sign partly broken and the door all scratched up and the glass windows all smudged, like dozens of people had been milling around outside and banging on the building.

"Crap," Karma mutters. "I hope SG2 and LG are okay…" She glances around, spots no crazed fans for the moment, and darts across the street, yanking open the unlocked front door and diving inside.

At first it seems like nobody is there at all, but Karma can smell blood farther in, belonging to still-living beings. It smells terrible, though--and not at all like any of her friends. Gripping her left-handed knife carefully in one hand, she stalks forward and is just in time to see a number of the crazy Ship Wars fans in the back room, destroying what's left of the food stock while arguing fanatically about some plot point in the book that was removed from the movie. They all freeze and look up when they see her and their expressions shift to something both deranged and delighted at the prospect of 'fresh meat.'

"Shit!" Karma hisses, and slams the door shut, before hastily locking it with magic. It won't last forever, but it should be enough to hold them until she can get out of here, since it's not safe and her friends are obviously elsewhere. She turns on her heel to go right back out the front door, but that's when Bradios comes crashing in--with a horde of fans on his heels.

"Bradios! Look out!" Karma yells, and outstretches her hands towards the door and walls. Concentrating deeply, she summons her unique powers of Ruin Magic, and Ruins the front of the store, causing it to collapse into rubble like a small cave-in. The horde howls angrily outside, but for the moment, can't get through the collapsed mess.

"Out the back, hurry," Karma gasps, and then leans forward on the counter for a moment, exhausted. Ruin magic isn't easy, and it's even harder when you're hungry and running low on blood.

LG couldn't help but wonder what was up this kid's ass. LG was a teacher so he knew kids could be rude but this kid was just trying to piss him off! Why was he intentionally trying to be rude? Though LG couldn't stop from wondering this he knew to be nice, the kid did save him after all.

"So what do I owe you?" LG asked sitting up.

The kid informed LG that he would be helping him do supply runs but before he had the chance to finish explaining the materials needed they heard a loud crash.

LG jumped out of bed, automatically regretting it because he felt so light headed. No time for that though, he needed to get down stairs where the crash came from. Quickly he started rushing down the stairs, after the kid. What LG saw at the bottom he knew was bad, thousands of shipshappers rushing in through a hole in a wall.

Lg called his sword but then something odd happened, the blonde boy hit him and told him not to do anything. Did the kid just want to escape? It looked like some of these fan boys were biting into the kids group, while others were knocking out parts of the group. Were they not unified? LG found this all very odd.

He was then yelled at for being "stupid and slow" by the kid and they ran off together - and by running LG means that the kid picked him up and they flew off together.

SG2 had been tunneling for days. She knew there was no time to waste, but it seemed that every time she tunneled close to the surface, hoping to find a safe place to emerge near one of her friends' lands, she could hear the growing violence and commotion even through the thick layer of soil. Things were only getting worse on the surface the longer she spent playing it safe underground...she couldn't afford to wait any longer.

The original intent was to dig from where she started in IGNO City down to the Peensinsula with hopes of finding LG. While it was true that he could occasionally be lazy or get caught up in his other jobs, it wasn't like him to be absent from Peach Out for so long...what if these crazed fans had already gotten to him? She had hoped that she'd find him sitting in his lighthouse and be able to smack him for shirking his duties, because at least that would mean he was still okay.

(IMG:http://i.imgur.com/dt9Vv9o.png)

However, about halfway down to the Peeninsula she ran into some complications...she had forgotten that LG kept the caverns of his former desert home well-defended. It was becoming too difficult to dig around the numerous tunnel networks already occupied by his phallic friends. It was unfortunate, since she had already come this way...but she had no choice. She had to detour and pin her hopes on finding someone else. The closest nation to where she was right now was Reese's Roost, but she wasn't much for swimming in lava. It was almost backtracking completely, but she decided to head for the Blood Country. Certainly Karma would be there, and she'd be a valuable ally in figuring out just what was going on.

"Phew!!"

Finally the tiger emerged in the dark, overcast lands of the Blood Country. She glanced at her surroundings.

"Hmm...everything seems pretty normal here...those fans haven't gotten this far yet, at least."

The Blood Castle was just ahead. Most outsiders would have been nervous wandering around in this zombie-infested country, but SG2 was once the Kaiser's right-hand and a frequent enough visitor that the zombies weren't interested in eating her brains. She heard the occasional chuckling and whispers amongst the undead, something about there 'not being enough to go around', but she didn't understand what that meant...she was still too focused on the crazed fans IGNO CIty was overrun with, who were far more terrifying than real zombies.

Arriving at the front of the castle, SG2 pushed on the heavy wooden door, which opened with an ominous creak. The scent was overpowering, as usual...a musty smell of death and decay. It was always ominously silent in the castle, but it felt somehow emptier than usual...

"Yo Karma!! You there?"

The tiger wandered through the empty halls calling out to the vampire paladin for some time, but there was no response. She finally managed to find the vampire butler and zombie maids setting the table in the dining hall, and they told her what she'd feared the most - Karma had already left for IGNO City.

Without even thanking the staff for the information, SG2 bolted out of the castle and back into her tunnel. She'd already done the hard part of digging all the way here - it shouldn't take nearly as long to crawl back to the start if she went at top speed.

"I hope I'm not too late...!!"

Iris was sweeping the floors of "The sweet tooth", a new bakery within IGNOcity.
It was closing time. She was alone, singing along and dancing to some boy band's music video she had blasting on the TV.

Oh, why do you look blue?
I'll dance all night with you!

Iris was cut off in the middle of her serenade to the broom as the news came on.
Her face went white as she heard the newscaster's horrified scream.

She ran out of the bakery soon after.
Outside was a complete disaster, the streets were filled with cars causing traffic congestion with the drivers madly honking their horns and pedestrians filling the sidewalk in droves.

Iris took to the air, thankful for the fact that she could fly.
