06.25.2016: Exactly a month since my last update (somehow), I'm once again bringing in some big changes. The forum structure has been revamped AGAIN, essentially reversing the changes made back in November. The 'Old IGNO' style of posting is officially back, by popular demand!! We will henceforth be emphasizing our signature style of spontaneous in-character discussions instead of the ill-attempted shift towards traditional roleplaying. Head over to the Casual RP forum and jump into the action!! And fear not - the traditional topics are still here, they just got a new home, too!! --SG2
05.25.2016: Am I alive again? Who knows. Regardless of my state of existence, I'm doing some much-needed cleanup over at IGNOpedia. I'd like to regain my IGNO mojo and start attracting newbies now that summer break has begun, for the bored folks out there looking for a new RP hangout... --SG2
12.1.2015: Completely rewrote the Element Guide from scratch. Now much more comprehensive!! --SG2
11.24.2015: Major overhaul in-progress!! Changed the skin, revamped the forum structure, and fixed a few things under the hood. Stay tuned for more revisions to the world, the map, and completely redone backstory of IGNOLand!! --SG2
11.12.2015: I'm back from the dead. Time to take a break from playing Skyrim and make a return to IGNOLand - big things planned!! --SG2

[If anyone wants to join this at some point PM me and I can see if we can work things out but for the first few posts I'd like it to be SG2 and I.]
Flying through the canopy of the Wayward Woods to the city center of Faeland with its twisty dirt paths and little cottages dotting the landscape made Iris smile and want to vomit simultaneously.
It was nice to be home but, it would be nicer if she was there under different circumstances....
"Hello? Iris are you there? Iris?" asked a muffled voice from inside Iris' pocket.
She pulled out a small compact mirror. It was slightly ajar.
"Hi, Ma. Sorry, I didn't hear my mirror twinkle and it keeps accidentally popping open in my pocket again."
Her mother sighed. "How much longer till you're here? We don't want to keep Charlene waiting too long."
Iris' stomach flip flopped upon hearing the the name.
" She's here already?!"
"Yes, she is," Mrs Gingersnap's eye twitched as off key banjo music played in the background.
" Your Pa is keeping her....occupied for the time being."
Iris landed on the street, less then a block from her parent's house.
" I'll be there in a couple minutes, bye."
She trudged the rest of the way.
Maybe it won't be that bad, I just have to meet her, tell her no, and go back to the city. That's all I have to do to hold up the deal.
Iris walked up to the door of the house, coming inside to see a blue haired woman sitting across from her father.
" Hi, sorry I was late."

Charlene turned to the voice behind them, glad to finally do she what came here for, start to get to know
the girl, make her comfortable.
If she had to listen to that awful music for another second she'd loose it.
"Better late then never."
Charlene gave her best warm smile.
"It's nice to finally meet you Iris. I almost didn't recognize you, your picture looks different."
She set a drawing on the table of a lanky, short haired, androgynous-looking adolescent wearing a blazer and pants that were a size too small.
"A lot can change in a year. Your parents told me that you stayed in IGNO City, how was it?"

Iris didn't know what to say to the other fairy.
She was a stranger who was several years older then her, all she knew about Charlene was that her family had money.
It didn't help that she had that picture & was talking to her like she was Iris' aunt or something.
"It was..an experience," Iris said. "Meeting people and doing things that I couldn't if I stayed here." she uneasily glanced at her parents at the last part of the sentence, hoping they'd get the message.
Mrs Gingersnap Changed the subject.
"Iris, come to the kitchen with me for a minute and help bring out the cake."
Iris followed her to the kitchen.
Her mother paused. "Listen, I know this isn't the most comfortable get together, it was awkward for your father and I when we met too. I just don't want you to make any hasty decisions."
"What-what hasty decisions? I spent a year there. Yes, it was hard at first, yes, the people are... Uh..different but, not all are out to get you.
I have a job that I really like, I get to make all sorts of clothes and I have friends there. Would you chose spending the rest of your life with a stranger over that?"
"You don't have to decide after just one meeting, remember? This is just the first one for the first week, you get three weeks, that's what we agreed."
" 21 days isn't enough time to get to know someone well to marry them." Iris argued.
" It may not much, but it's a start. You'll bond afterwards." her mother said. "Think of what this could do for all of us, think of your future!"
Iris picked up the cake off the table.
"Is money that important?" she walked out before her mother could answer.

Charlene stared at the kitchen door, listening to the muffled arguing on the other side.
Mr Gingersnap shifted awkwardly in his seat, glancing at the fireplace's chard logs.
"....I'm going to get more wood." he said, promptly heading outside.
This was going to be a long evening...
A chiming came from her pocket.
Charlene took the compact mirror and flipped it open.
" Bob, for the last time, sweep the dammed floor. Don't let the dust go to waste, we can still make do with it."
" Ma'am, it's not that," the dwarf paused. " The wearhouse...caught fire."
" How?!" she asked.
" The new guy, what's his name...Todd? knocked over a couple of candles, fire spread. There's some damage. The place is okay, still standing."
Charlene pursed her lips" I need to see it for myself. Meet me there ASAP."
She closed her mirror just as Iris came back with the cake.
"My mother just messaged me saying she has chills and a fever. I'd hate to disrupt the evening but I can't leave her alone long like that."
"Oh, no, that's fine you should go." Iris assured, trying not to sound relived.
"Would you like us to fly back with you?" Mrs Gingersnap asked. "It'll get dark soon."
"No thank you, I'll be fine. goodnight, Iris. I hope to see you soon." Charlene flew out the door.

Well, that was... brief." Mrs Gingersnap said.
Iris set the cake on the table then opened up her banjo case that she'd left by the doorway & went outside with it.
"Where are you going?"
"Just out for a bit, a quick walk before dinner." She didn't need to deal with more awkward silence in the tiny house.
" But dinner will be ready in an hour."
" I'll be back before then, I promise. Besides, I know you don't like it when me and Pa practice inside."
"It's Pa and I for the sentence and fine go out." Her mother said, too tired to argue.
Iris continued on path towards town until she was out of site of her parents' house wherein she she switched direction to the woods.
The last thing she needed was the gossip of the townsfolk. The edge of the Wayward Woods had the right mix of solitude and safety.

The whole place smelled of mildew and burnt sugar.
Floor-to ceiling scorch marks with melted pebbles everywhere dripping like wet paint, pooling into sticky, pastel colored streams.
Something fell from above, missing Charlene by a few inches. " Slight Damage?" She looked up at the hole. "That wasn't there when I left. "
" We did the best we could. " Bob answered, hands behind his back."
" Where's Todd?"
A deertaur walked past, sweeping up debris.
" It wasn't me! I was packing batches from this morning when the fire started."
"I assigned both of you that job, correct?"
" Yes." Todd affirmed. Bob nodded, his face shiny from sweat.
" What've you got there, Robert?"
Charlene moved closer.
Bob backed up.
Todd continued sweeping. A half burnt scrap of paper was in the dust pan.
There was something on it.
Charlene snatched it up and smoothed it out.
On it was a risquè image.
" You were looking at porn instead of working and knocked down candles, Bob?!"
Bob ran, dropping the magazine.
Charlene flew off, or tried to. Her boots where stuck in a melted peb puddle.
After struggling for a couple seconds, she untied her shoes and went without them.
